Dal 10 al 16 aprile 2010 gli studenti del Liceo Don Bosco di Borgomanero e quelli dell'Arppe Koulu di Kitee (Finlandia) hanno realizzato a Kitee uno scambio scolastico interculturale.
La collaborazione tra i due istituti risale al 2000 e questa volta i ragazzi della prima liceo classico del Don Bosco sono stati ospiti delle famiglie degli studenti finlandesi. Per una settimana hanno vissuto insieme, collaborando ad un progetto comune. In questo modo hanno avuto la possibilità di confrontare le reciproche culture di appartenenza e di utilizzare "sul campo" la lingua Inglese.
Il lavoro, sviluppato in gruppi misti italo-finnici, ha avuto come tema la partecipazione dei giovani ed ha portato alla realizzazione di sei petizioni su questioni di loro interesse. Le petizioni sono poi state presentate all'interno della scuola per una prima raccolta di sottoscrizioni e sono state poi portate all'Aministrazione comunale di Kitee. Sono anche state messe on-line: ognuno può leggerle e sottoscriverle.
Un settimo gruppo di lavoro ha realizzato un giornale, con testi e immagini, documentando in tempo reale tutto lo scambio e l'attività degli altri studenti.
La settimana si è poi conclusa ad helsinky, con una visita al Parlamento finlandese e ad un centro di aggregazione giovanile all'avanguardia.

From April 10th to 16th 2010 the students from Liceo Don Bosco of Borgomanero (Italy)and from Arppe Koulu of Kitee (Finland) made in Kitee an intercultural school exchange.
The cooperation between the two schools is going on from year 2000. This time the Italian pupils has been hosted in the families of the Finnsh ones.
During one week they lived together, cooperating on a common project. In this way they had the possibility to comepare theyr different cultures and to use in a real situation the English lenguage.
The work, made in mixed Italian-Finnish groups, was on the topic of youth participation. The relust was six petitions concernig things they decided. The petitions where presented to other students in the school, to collect names to support them, and then presented in Kitee Town hall.
The petitions where also published in Internet, so everybody can read and support them.
A seveth group made a magazine, with texts and pictures, to document in real time all the exchange and the other groups' activity.
In the end of the week the students visited the Finnish Parliament and a new youth center in Helsinky.
